Tongue & Ink: Undergraduate Writer's Conference

Information

Early registration ends FEBRUARY 10th!!!  If you send your registration form to us by February 10 (e-mail it to tongue.and.ink@gmail.com), please also send us a piece to publish in the conference publication.  Also, send us a piece to give to our keynote speakers to workshop!  REGISTER NOW!

What is it?
Tongue & Ink is a two-day conference designed especially for undergraduate writers.  It will be an opportunity for you to write, share your work, see what other people are doing, talk to professionals, try some new approaches, and meet other writers.  Olena Kalytiak Davis and Ander Monson are two wonderful authors who will be sharing their work and expertise with you all weekend long.  There will be sessions Friday afternoon and Saturday with professors, writers, editors, and students from around the Midwest.  You will have an opportunity to attend master classes, read at open mics, discuss your writing in small workshops led by student leaders and seasoned writers, or attend panels on a variety of topics.  There will be poetry slams and theatre productions.  Everyone at every level is welcome: if you like to write, come hang out with us.

When and where?
The conference will be held Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th.  Registration will start at 3:00 PM with the first event at 4:00 PM.  After a full evening followed by an even busier day, we will wrap up around 7:00 PM for those of you who want to hit the road.  Of course, you are welcome to spend another evening with us.  All the activities will be held at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois.  Registration will be held in the Main Lounge in the Memorial Student Center.
Take a look at the tentative conference schedule!

Questions, complaints, funny stories, half a sandwich to share? all can be addressed to Tributaries staff at iwutributaries@gmail.com!

Tributaries follows a blind submission process.  Students may submit in the fall and late winter to the Tributaries mailbox at the English House or online to iwutributaries@hotmail.com.  Names must be provided initially to ensure current enrollment as a student at Illinois Wesleyan but are removed to preserve anonymity to the best of our ability during selection.  Originality, quality, and purpose are main factors when considering a piece.  We are inclusive and accept submissions from all disciplines.  Funded by Student Senate, Tributaries is free to all members of the Illinois Wesleyan community.
