Remove the fat from inside the chicken and render about 5 minutes in a large frying pan.
Then saute the onions and garlic in the pan. Next place the chicken in the pan skin side up.
Then add the bay leaf, carrots, celery, turnip, potatoe, water, parsnip, and parsley.
Finally season with salt, pepper, and paprika. Simmer for about 1 1/2
hours or until tender. Serve over rice.
