What is
the reflective essay?
Points: 50
Length: 3 pages
The reflective essay is an opportunity for you to look back on the
writing you've produced and the processes you've gone through.
Pick two essays of the five we've done that you think are the best, and
explain why you think they represent your best work. You should also
comment on your own writing process, as you see it after having written
five papers for this class. What is that process? When does
it work well? What changes do you think you could make in your
writing process to improve it? This essay is a chance for you to
convince me that you've written superior papers this semester.
The reflective essay will be evaluated on how thoughtful and well
organized it is, but also on the number of local errors (mechanics,
usage, grammar, etc.) and whether you actually refer to or quote from
some of your papers.
Due: by Friday, 12.14, 1:15 p.m., in my office, Stevenson 10.
Don't forget
that you may also, at that time, turn in two essays (with all previous
drafts!) for a higher grade... but you need to make substantial
revisions to make this worth your while.
