PLANT AND FUNGAL DIVERSITY LINKS MENU for Biology 306, Illinois Wesleyan University:
Historically, the organisms that we will be studying in Biology 306 were considered to be plants or were studied chiefly by botanists. Some modern classifications place these organisms variously into three domains (or super-kingdoms) and six different kingdoms: Eubacteria, Archaeobacteria, Fungi, Protoctista, Stramenopila, and Plantae. The following are links to some of the WWW sites which have either introductory information or excellent images (or both) for the various groups of organisms. Enjoy browsing!
