IWU’s Seebruch Named CCIW “Player of Week”;
Lamb and Glerum Move Up On IWU Career Rankings

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University senior Sara Seebruch has been named “Player of the Week” for women’s basketball in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
 In two victories last week, the 5-foot-11 forward from Tinley Park (Andrew HS) scored 59 points, was 26 of 36 from the field (.722), and made all seven free throw tries.
 Seebruch set a Shirk Center single-game scoring record with 39 points in the 82-77 OT conference win over North Central on Jan. 16. In that game she was 16-of-24 from the field and also grabbed seven rebounds.
 Seebruch, who is only the sixth IWU women’s player ever to surpass both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds, ranks eighth all-time at IWU in scoring with 1,106 points and is tied for 11th in career rebounds with 508. She is fourth in field goals made with 479 and ninth with 145 free throws made.
 A mathematics/secondary education major, Seebruch is the daughter of Dave and Judy Seebruch, 16447 Cherry Hill Ave., Tinley Park.

 Senior guard Maggie Lamb (Geneseo, J.D. Darnall HS) now ranks in the top 12 in five offensive categories. She is 12th in career scoring with 858 points and 12th in field goals made (276). Lamb ranks third in 3-point field goals made with 89, fifth in free throws with 217, and sixth in assists with 236.

 Sophomore guard Melissa Glerum (Champaign, Centennial HS) is already IWU’s 20th all-time leading scorer with 688 points and she also ranks 17th in Titan women’s history with 91 free throws made. Glerum, who set a school single game record with six 3-pointers on Dec. 1 vs. Fontbonne, has 44 career 3-pointers, which is fifth all-time at the school.

 The Titans (8-5 overall, 1-2 in the CCIW) play league games at North Park on Tuesday, Jan. 19, and at Elmhurst on Saturday, Jan. 23.
