Twenty members of the Illinois Wesleyan women's soccer team will be traveling and playing in Italy over IWU's spring break March 10-20. The Titans will play four games while in Italy - March 14 against ACF Milan; March 15 vs. Vallassinese; March 16 vs CF Bardolino; and March 17 vs. CF Agliana. All games are at 7 p.m. local time. Along with the games, the women will have time to be tourists in Milan, Venice, Verona, Florence and Pisa, and will see a Serie A soccer match between AC Milan and Sampdoria. Head coach Dave Barrett said, "This tour is a wonderful opportunity for the women in our soccer program. We are going to play some very strong competition and that will only help the group improve individually and collectively as we look forward to the fall season. More importantly, I think the team will remember this chance to travel to some of the most beautiful and historic places in Europe with their teammates and friends. It is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience as a college athlete and I know we are all excited to begin the tour." CONTACT: Stew Salowitz, 309-556-3206 |
