Beth (Hasheider) Williams
Beth (Hasheider) Williams has been the head softball coach at Illinois Wesleyan University for two years with a record of 70-19. Her 2003 team finished third in the nation after winning both the NCAA Division III regional tournament and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin tournament.
A full-time assistant for the IWU women's basketball team, she is also be an instructor of physical education.
A 1998 summa cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in management information systems, Williams had been working as a computer systems analyst for Bloomingtonâs State Farm Insurance Companies.
In college Williams earned four letters in basketball and was a two-year starter and team captain for the Salukis. At Okawville (Ill.) High School, she earned all-state basketball honors and was "Player of the Year" as a senior, when she led the Lady Rockets to a 32-2 record and the Class A championship. She was also an all-stater as a junior for a team that went 29-5 and placed second in the state tourney.
She played for the Normal Vipers softball team in the summers of 1999 and 2000 and played this summer for the Bloomington Lady Hearts, who were recently ousted from the Amateur Softball Association Women's Major Fastpitch National Tournament in Phoenix, Ariz.
