IWU’s Hardy Named to Two Preseason All-America Teams

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University senior DeAndre Hardy has been chosen to the offensive line on two national magazine preseason Division III All-America football squads.

Hardy, a 6-foot-5, 305 pound tackle from Chicago (Whitney Young HS), has been chosen to the All-America teams named in both Street & Smith's college football annual and the national Preview Sports publication. He was the lone College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin representative selected to the first team, offense or defense, in either publication.

Last season Hardy earned honorable mention All-America in Don Hansen's Football Gazette as well as on the USA Football team. A first team all-CCIW player and first team all-North Region selection in 1998, Hardy was a key blocker on a line that enabled IWU to get 458 yards and 36.6 points per game.

Hardy, who was second team all-conference as a sophomore, will also serve as a co-captain for the 1999 Titans.
