BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan freshman Mary Karson was chosen to the first team and junior Ann Bernard was named to the third team of the Division III all-Central region women’s soccer squads.
Karson, a back from St. Charles, Ill. (HS), led the Titans with eight goals and had two assists for 18 points. Bernard, a midfielder who is also from St. Charles, Ill. (HS), scored five goals and had a team-high eight assists to tie Karson with 18 points.
Voting is done on the all-region squads by coaches from the region. Karson will join first team selections from the six other national regions on the ballot for All-America consideration.
Both Karson and Bernard earned first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin honors for the Titans, who finished 13-4-2 overall and advanced to the championship game of the CCIW tournament.
