Seven Titans Earn All-CCIW Soccer Honors16 November 2004 BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Seven Illinois Wesleyan football players were chosen to the two College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-league squads selected by league coaches. Senior wide receiver Eric White was on the first team for the third time, joined by senior defensive back Vince Heaton and punt return specialist Eric Esch. On the all-CCIW second team are junior linebacker Damon Banks for the second straight year, along with senior offensive linemen Chris Reynolds and Kyle Jones and senior defensive lineman Josh Remer. The Titans finished sixth with a record of 2-5 in CCIW play and were 3-7 overall. White (Antioch HS) was fifth in the CCIW in both receptions (6.0) and receiving yards per game (86.1) and was sixth in scoring with 6.9 points per game. In his career overall White set a school record for career catches (230) and ended his career at IWU second all-time in receiving yards (3,430), receiving touchdowns (38), total points (30) and touchdowns (38). Heaton (Wheaton, Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) finished fourth in the conference with 70 total tackles in league play, including 42 solo. Esch, a sophomore from Bloomington (HS), finished second in the NCAA Division III statistics with a 20.6 punt return average and was also second in the seven-game conference schedule with an average of 15.6. Banks (Bellwood, Walther Lutheran HS) was third in the league with 73 total tackles, including 33 solo with one quarterback sack. Remer (Crestwood, Shepard HS) made 38 total tackles, including 14 solos against league opponents. Reynolds (Springfield, Southeast HS) and Jones (Glenview, Glenbrook South HS) were key blockers on a line that allowed the offense to gain 357.7 yards per game in seven conference games.
