IWU's Hamblin Named to all-CCIW

Two Other Titans Earn All-League
Honors
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University junior Tiffany Hamblin has been named for the second straight season to the first team of the all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin volleyball squads while two of her teammates also earned all-league notice.
Hamblin, a 5-foot-7 setter from Bloomington (HS),
was sixth in the final CCIW statistics with 9.21 set assists per game and
was eighth in service aces with .48 per game.
Hamblin, who was honorable mention all-CCIW as a
freshman, also had a team-best .408 hitting percentage in CCIW games with
34 kills in 76 total attempts in 29 games.
Other Titans named to the all-league squads were
seniors Liz Niemann and Carolyn Nugent, both of whom earned honorable mention.
Niemann, an outside hitter from Paxton (Paxton
Buckley Loda HS), was seventh in the CCIW statistics with .5 service
aces per game. She also had 2.5 kills and 2.7 digs per game.
Nugent, an outside hitter from Buffalo Grove
(Stevenson HS), had 3.1 digs and 2.2 kills per game against conference
opponents.
The Titans finished with a 19-20 overall mark and were 3-4 in the CCIW this fall. IWU placed third in last weekend's conference tournament.
Sophomore Beth Crowley (Bloomington, Normal West HS) finished eighth with 2.93 kills per game in the final CCIW-only statistics.
Augustana's Kiersten Madden was chosen "Player of the Year" and Liesl Fowler of Augustana was chosen "Coach of the Year." Millikin's Stacey Stegeman was chosen as the league's "Freshman of the Year."
