BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Tiffany Hamblin and Marisa Johnson of Illinois Wesleyan University have been honored as "Players of the Week" in their respective sports by the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.

Hamblin, a junior setter from Bloomington (HS), had 52 assists, 19 digs and nine kills as the Titans beat Millikin in a CCIW match on Oct. 2. She was named to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh all-tournament team as she averaged 9.7 assists, 2.6 digs and 1.0 kills per game.
Hamblin currently ranks first in CCIW statistics with a 10.95 assist average, is eighth in digs with 3.6 per game, and fifth in service aces with .63 per game.
The Titans, who are 14-9 overall and 3-1 in the CCIW, host the five-team Titan Tournament this weekend. The tournament field includes Washington U., which won the NCAA Division III national tournament in 1989 and from 1991 to 1996, and Central (Iowa), which has won the Division III championship the past three seasons.

Johnson, a freshman midfielder from Wayne (St. Charles East HS), scored three goals and had one assist in two games, both Titan victories. She had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 CCIW decision at North Park and had a goal in a 2-0 win over nationally-ranked Chicago.
Johnson is tied for ninth in the CCIW in total points with 13 on five goals and three assists.
The Titans, 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the CCIW, play at Elmhurst Thursday and host league-leading Carthage Saturday at 12 p.m.
Johnson shared the weekly award with Elmhurst's Jeni Sweeney, who scored just one big goal allowing Elmhurst a 1-0 victory that ended Wheaton’s 43-game league winning streak.
