Chris Ross of Illinois Wesleyan wins offensive "Player of the Week" honor for second consecutive

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Illinois Wesleyan senior tailback Chris Ross (Chatham, Glenwood HS) has been named the offensive "Player of the Week" award in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin for the second straight week. The defensive "Player of the Week" for games of October 5 is Millikin linebacker Eric Kramer.
Ross gained 187 yards on 25 carries and tied an Illinois Wesleyan school record with four rushing touchdowns as Illinois Wesleyan beat North Park 49-9 in the conference opener for both teams. Ross scored three touchdowns in the first quarter on runs of two, 14 and 45 yards and then added a third quarter touchdown of seven yards. He tied the record of Maury Parker against Carthage in 1990.
Kramer had 10 total tackles, seven of them solo, in Millikin's 21-12 win at Carthage. Kramer had two tackles for losses of four yards and one sack for three yards.
