win "Player of the Week" honors in the CCIW for games of September 14

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois - Illinois Wesleyan quarterback Josh Akin and Millikin defensive end Nate Carden were selected as the "Players of the Week" in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin following action on Saturday, September 14.

Akin completed 17 of 38 passes for 219 yards and rushed for 54 more, including a 37 yard scamper with 6:43 left in the game that gave the Titans their first and only lead of the contest in a 35-31 road victory at Wisconsin-LaCrosse. Akin threw for a pair of scores on the day and he completed nine of his passes to wide receiver Eric White for 141 yards.

Carden was all over the field in the Big Blue's 54-21 win over Franklin. He had four tackles, two sacks for losses totaling 15 yards, forced a fumble and deflected a pass.
