IWU Women's Swim Team Ranks High in Classroom

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women’s swim team is one of 283 nationally to earn College Swimming Coaches Association of America Academic scholar-athlete honors.
With a group grade-point average of 3.41 (on a 4.0 scale), the IWU women’s squad was one of 46 teams, both men and women from all NCAA, NAIA and junior college divisions, to post a GPA higher than 3.4.
In addition, sophomore Robin Johnson (Peoria, Dunlap HS) and seniors Molly Hornbaker (Princeton HS) and Heather Lingenfelter (Peoria, Richwoods HS) all posted grade-point averages of 3.5 or better to earn CSCAA top academic honors while senior Erin Bicek (Downers Grove, North HS) earned honorable mention. To qualify for individual honors, a swimmer must have qualified for the NCAA Division III national meet.
