Freshmen Lead Titans in Golf

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Six players have been awarded varsity letters for this spring's Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team.

Among the letterwinners are freshmen Clint Squier (Beecher HS) and Charlie Hollingworth (Galena HS), who posted the best averages on the team.

Squier had an average of 82.3 in seven rounds and was the team's low scorer in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin meet as he placed 11th with a two-day total of 158. He also had his season best score of 78 at the CCIW event at the Pontiac Elks course.

Hollingworth averaged 82.8 strokes through 12 rounds and had a season-low of 76 at the IWU Invitational April 18 at Ironwood. His two-day 159 total was good for a 12th place tie in the CCIW meet, where the Titans finished sixth.
