Titans’ Palmer Named to all-Region Team

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan junior right-handed pitcher Adam Palmer has been named to the first team of the Division III Central Region squad, chosen by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association.

This spring, Palmer (Naperville, North HS) posted a 9-2 record with a 1.70 earned run average. He set a school single-season record with four shutouts and holds the IWU career record with six shutouts, topping the old mark of five set by Ed Moore, who pitched from 1975-78.

His nine wins is second most in an IWU season to the 11 amassed by Nathan Knuffman in 1998 and Palmer's three-year record of 16-11 ties him with Tim Siegworth (1974-77) for seventh in career victories at the school. .

IWU sophomore right-hander Ben Pasulka (Chicago, Loyola Academy) earned honorable mention on the all-district team. He was 6-3 this season with a 2.39 earned run average. He struck out 50 batters in 60 1/3 innings.
