IWU's Hunt, Gilfillan repeat all-CCIW

BLOOMINGTON -- Illinois Wesleyan juniors Jeremy Hunt and Ryan Gilfillan have been honored as members of the All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Baseball Team for the second-straight season.

Gilfillan, a second baseman from Peoria (Notre Dame HS), led the Titans in conference games batting average (.486), home runs (4), doubles (12), runs (24) and RBI (28) was chosen as an infielder.

Hunt (Champaign, Centennial HS), who was second on the team in batting average (.389) and did not commit an error all season, was chosen as an outfielder.

Also honored on the first team from IWU were freshman third baseman Mick Curran (Orland Park, Sandburg HS) and pitchers Ben Pasulka (Chicago, Loyola Academy) and Erik Zier (Lockport HS).

In CCIW play, Curran hit .338 with three home runs and 21 RBI. Pasulka was 3-1 with a 1.29 earned run average in 47 1/3 innings pitched while Zier was a perfect 7-0 with a 2.93 ERA in 43 innings and pitched a no-hitter against Wheaton.

Pitcher Steve Brook (Chicago Heights, Homewood Flossmoor HS) was chosen to the second team. Brook was 4-1 with a 3.86 ERA and one save in 32 2/3 innings.
