BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Illinois Wesleyan University sophomore shortstop Molly Coers was named to the first team and seniors Colleen Schuster and Brynn Hasse were second team selections to the 2005 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin all-star softball squads. Coers batted .438 in league play, third in the CCIW. She was also third in on base percentage (.471), second in hits (21) and fifth in runs (11). Hasse hit .333 in 14 CCIW games and Schuster hit .275.

Coers and sophomore Stephanie Gockley have been elected to the first team of the District Five College Division all-academic softball squad and will join representatives of seven other districts on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America national ballot.
Coers, a shortstop from Manito, Ill. (Midwest Central HS), is an accounting major with a 3.82 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale). A first team all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin player, Coers batted a team-high .375 and led the Titans with 27 runs scored and 45 hits.
After two seasons, Coers is 29th among IWU career hit leaders with 82. She was third in the league in hitting, second in hits and fifth in runs and total bases.
Gockley, a designated hitter from Lisle, Ill. (HS), has a 3.35 grade-point average as a psychology major. This spring she batted .326 with six doubles, one home run and tied for third on the squad with 16 runs batted in.
The all-district teams were chosen by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Ontario. To be considered for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America squads, players must be of at least sophomore standing, have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 (of 4.0), and be a starter or first-line reserve.
