IWU Lands Two Men's Soccer Recruits

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Two high school soccer standouts have announced they will Illinois Wesleyan University to continue their academic and athletic careers, IWU soccer coach Dave Barrett announced today.

The two men who will join the freshman class are Patrick Collins of River Forest (Fenwick HS) and Kevin Hegi of Wheaton (North HS).

IWU head coach Barrett's comments on these members of his recruiting class:

r Patrick Collins, River Forest, Ill. (Chicago Fenwick HS)
Collins is a very dangerous and quick midfielder who will immediately make an impact on the Titan squad in the fall. Collins was an all-conference and all-sectional player in both his junior and senior seasons, and was the second leading scorer on his team. Collins plays his club soccer for the USA Maroons. "Patrick is a very fast and dangerous player who will create problems for opposition with his speed and knack for finding the goal. We are going to be much more dangerous with him in the lineup," says IWU head coach Dave Barrett.

r Kevin Hegi, Wheaton, Ill. (North HS)
Hegi brings with him a strong soccer background in both high school, with his club team Campton United, and with the Olympic Development Program in Illinois. He was an all-sectional and all-DuPage Conference player as a junior and senior. A natural midfielder, Hegi will bring skill and speed to the Titan attack and challenge for considerable playing time as a wide midfielder or a striker. "Kevin is a great addition to our team. He is a quality soccer person in addition to being a terrific soccer player. I am looking forward to having him on our team," says IWU head coach Dave Barrett.
