IWU's Reeley Earns Weekly League Honor;
Schilsky Shines in Baseball Setback

SOFTBALL - Sophomore A.J. Reeley of Illinois Wesleyan University has been selected "Player of the Week" in softball in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Reeley, a righthanded pitcher from Danville (HS), improved her season record to 8-0 by winning four games last week against Monmouth, Illinois College, Wisconsin-Superior, and Wisconsin-River Falls. She pitched 26 innings and scattered only 12 hits, allowed two runs and one earned run for a 0.27 earned run average.
She struck out 18 and walked three, pitching two shutouts, including a one-hitter vs. Illinois College.
The 17-2 Titans have won a school-record 14 straight games through April 2.

BASEBALL - IWU sophomore righthander Steve Schilsky (Springfield, Sacred Heart Griffin HS) struck out 14 batters in eight innings in a 5-4 loss to North Central on March 31. Schilsky scattered seven hits and allowed two runs.
The 14 strikeouts is the third best in a single game in IWU history, behind only Bill Marsh, who fanned 20 against Illinois State in a 12-inning game in 1948, and Ralph Bruck, who struck out 17 Elmhurst batters in a 1954 contest. Current Titan senior Matt Fehland also struck out 14 vs. North Park in 1998.
