28 February 2005

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan senior Hannah Meharry was chosen to the first team and junior Heidi Harnish was named to the third team of the all-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women’s basketball squads in voting today by league coaches.

Meharry, a 5-foot-5 guard from Tolono (Unity HS), finished ninth in the CCIW in scoring (12.1), led the conference in free throw shooting percentage (.837), and was fifth with 3.21 assists per game.

Harnisch, a 5-foot-10 forward from Urbana (HS), averaged 9.4 points in league play despite playing a good portion of the year with a stress fracture in her foot. She was third in the CCIW in 3-point accuracy (.426) and made 1.64 3-pointers per game.

The Titans finished with a 16-11 overall record and were 8-6 in the CCIW, good for third place in the regular season. IWU finished second to Millikin in the league’s postseason tournament last weekend.
