All-Conference Squads

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan University senior Melissa Glerum and sophomore Katie Cantrell were chosen to the first and third teams, respectively, of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's basketball all-star squad in voting by league coaches Tuesday.

The Titans, who finished the season by winning their final 10 games to close with a 16-9 overall mark, were 11-3 in the conference and tied Wheaton for second place. An IWU women's team has finished as high as second only once before in the CCIW, when the 1993-94 team was also 11-3.

North Central's Amanda Orsburn, who led the CCIW in scoring and was fourth in rebounding, was the league's "Most Outstanding Player" while Lori Kerans of league champion Millikin was "Coach of the Year."

As a team, IWU was second in scoring offense with 72.7 points per game and second with a rebound margin of +6.0. The Titans led the league with a .355 3-point shooting percentage, were third in field goal accuracy (.426), and second in free throw accuracy (.747).

Junior center Cindy Uphoff (El Paso HS) finished 11th in the CCIW with an 11.5 scoring average and third with 8.1 rebounds per game. In 14 games, Uphoff led the league with .602 field goal percentage. She also led the CCIW in field goal shooting as a freshman and was second last year.

Sophomore Elisa Ettner (Marengo HS) finished third in free throw shooting with an .852 mark (52 of 61) while senior Kristen Conley (Cerro Gordo HS) was fourth at .833 (25 of 30).
