Glerum, Camardella Chosen League "Players of Week"

Illinois Wesleyan's Melissa Glerum and John Camardella have been chosen "Players of the Week" for women's and men's basketball, respectively, in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin for the week ending Feb. 18.

Glerum, a senior from Champaign (Centennial HS), played a huge role in IWU's 75-70 win over Millikin in Decatur on Feb. 13. She scored 15 points and had two steals while limiting the CCIW's leading scorer, Missy Barrett, to only 10 points on 3-of-13 from the field. The loss ended a 46-game Millikin home win streak.
Glerum also scored 17 points with three assists in an 85-70 win over Carthage on Feb. 17.
The victory was IWU's eighth consecutive and improved the Titans' record to 14-9 overall and 9-3 in the CCIW (third place).

Camardella, a sophomore forward from Arlington Heights (Hersey HS), scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in a 71-63 win over CCIW first-place (and No. 6-ranked nationally) Elmhurst on Feb. 17. He was 7-of-10 from the field in the game.
Earlier in the week Camardella had 10 points and seven rebounds in just 19 minutes of action in an 86-72 home win over North Central. In that game he was 3-of-4 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
With two wins last week, the Titans improved to 17-6 overall and 8-4 in the CCIW.
