CROSS CCIW BASKETBALL “PLAYER OF WEEK”

Titan junior guard Laban Cross (Dahlgren, McLeansboro HS) and Carthage’s Rob Garnes were selected as the co-"Players of the Week" in the CCIW for action ending Feb. 16.

Cross had a week which saw him connect on 11-of-14 3-point field goals. In an 85-74 win over Wheaton (Feb. 13) he scored a career-high 32 points and was 10-17 from the field, six of eight from 3-point range, and six of seven from the free throw line with nine rebounds.
Only two other Titans have scored more than 32 in a game at the Shirk Center - Korey Coon had 42 vs. North Central (Feb. 23, 2000) and Bryan Crabtree scored 40 vs. Millikin (Feb. 24, 1996). Mark Aubry also scored 32 in the Shirk Center's first men's game, vs. Aurora on Nov. 20, 1994.

In a 106-92 loss at Augustana (Feb. 16), Cross had 21 points and was eight-of-11 from the field, including five-of-six from 3-point range. For the week he was 18-28 from the floor and 11-of-14 from 3-point range.
