Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues:

Thanks to those of you who have offered advice and suggestions about how to approach our work as we come to terms with today's horrific events. We believe that we should, as much as possible, move back into our regular schedules tomorrow. As we meet our classes or go about our work, each faculty or staff member will be making decisions about how to approach the questions, concerns, grief, and uncertainties we and our students are feeling. We ask only that you be flexible and understanding as you deal with students and each other. In such a cruel and shocking context, perhaps our best response will be to exercise kindness and consideration.

There will be a special Memorial Chapel at 11 PM tomorrow, in Evelyn Chapel. Please be sure to allow students or colleagues to attend, if they wish.

The President's Office has begun organizing a faculty panel to be held at 4 p.m. tomorrow in the Main Lounge. Any faculty member who wants to be involved in organizing or presenting ideas at this event should contact the President's Office.

Please do continue to let me, Minor, Jim Matthews, or Ken Browning know of any other ideas you may have about helpful ways to help the community through this time of national crisis.
