Background: Susan Werner returns to The Blue Moon Coffeehouse for a sixth visit to IWUs campus. An Iowa native, Werner earned a master's degree in classical voice from Temple University. She brings with her the remarkable ability to play both piano and guitar coupled with a songwriting language all her own.
The Washington Post says, Always an impressive songwriter, Werner continues to compose sharp, funny, compassionate lyrics, a gift rare enough to set her apart from most of her folk-pop peers.
Werner is touring in support of her fifth and latest CD, New Non Fiction. Some of her many musical influences are Joni Mitchell, Thelonius Monk, Sting and Nanci Griffith.
The Blue Moon Coffeehouse brings to the Illinois Wesleyan community entertainment presented in a coffeehouse setting. All Blue Moon events feature flavored coffees and light pastries for a nominal cost, along with a varied venue of acoustic performances by nationally touring singer-songwriters.
