Event: University Chapel Hour and Special Events presents: Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois State University Advent Communion Service

Background: To close the fall chapel year, Illinois Wesleyan will be the host of an evening Advent Communion Service meant to unite Illinois Wesleyan and Illinois State students in a common worship celebration.
Holy Communion will be celebrated by Rev. C. Raydean Davis, director of the Wesley Foundation at ISU, by the advisors to IWUs Methodist Student Fellowship: Rev. Paul Newhall. Pastor at Faith United Methodist Church in Bloomington, and Rev. Rob Roy, Pastor of Park United Methodist Church in Bloomington, and by University Chaplain Dennis E. Groh, who will speak on the subject, The Sounds and Smells of Christmas.
The Illinois Wesleyan University Chapel Choir, under the direction of Michael McHugh, and with the accompaniment of Erin Crab, will perform Psallite, arr. by Russel Robinson. Soloist, Jeremy Fisher will also sing Every Valley from Handels Messiah.
The service will also feature The IWU Brass Quintet, directed by Rachel Rosellini, performing O Holy Night, arr. by MacHuff; and their bell choir performing Martha Lynn Thompsons 16th century arrangement of What Child is This?
In addition, the organ voluntary, postlude and hymn accompaniment will feature the farewell performance of Lou Ann Fillingham, Evelyn Chapel organist since 1997.
