Event: Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: Teatro Luna

Admission: Free and open to the public

Background:
Cosponsored by Illinois Wesleyan’s Office of Multicultural Studies and the Department of Hispanic Studies, Teatro Luna will perform The Maria Chronicles, a show based on the real life experiences of nine Latina actresses.

Teatro Luna
is Chicago’s first and only all-Latina theatre ensemble, producing original work that is based on real-life stories and autobiographical experiences.

The New York Times has called the troupe “the future of American theatre.” According to the Chicago Sun Times, Teatro Luna “are a warm and funny bunch. Proficient at both comedy and drama, they work together to create smooth ensemble work that resounds with an empowering message for women of all ages and races.”
