Event: Concert: Illinois Wesleyan Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds

Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall, 1210 Park St., Bloomington

Admission:
Free and open to the public

Background: The Illinois Wesleyan Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds will begin the season with a joint performance. The Wind Ensemble will perform under the direction of Steven Eggleston, professor of music, and Symphonic Winds will be conducted by Roger Garrett, professor of music.

Program: Symphonic Winds will perform: “The Klaxon: March of the Automobiles” by Fillmore, “Festive Overture” and “Folk Dances” by Shostakovich, “An Original Suite for Military Band” by Gordon Jacob, and “Amazing Grace” arranged by Frank Ticheli.

Wind ensemble will perform: “Rocky Point Holiday” by Ron Nelson, “Folk Song Suite” by Ralph Vaughn Williams, “Four Scottish Dances” by Malcolm Arnold, and Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the of Jesters.”
