Background: The quirky fairytale continues in the box office smash Shrek2. In the sequel to the Academy Award winning Shrek (2001), the big green ogre is facing his biggest challenge yet—meeting the in-laws.

Shrek (Mike Myers) and Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) have just returned from their honeymoon when they are invited to visit Princess Fiona’s parents, the King (John Cleese) and Queen (Julie Andrews) of Far, Far Away. But, the occasion quickly turns sour when the royal family realizes that the newlyweds are both ogres.

In the hope that Fiona will marry the more conventional Prince Charming, the King enlists a crew of fairy tale foes to break up the happy couple. Shrek and Fiona have to contend with an evil Fairy God Mother, and an ogre-slayer named Puss-in-Boots (Antonio Banderas) in a whimsical quest for “happily ever after.”
