Event: Office of Student Activities presents comedian Mike Birbiglia

Background: Mike Birbiglia is being touted as one of the hottest young comedians in America. He recently made his network television debut on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and had appearances on “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “USO Comedy Tour,” and HBO's “US Comedy Arts Festival” in Aspen, Colo.

Variety Magazine put Birbiglia in the category of comedians who generate the most industry heat after he was selected as one of the “New Faces” in Montreal's “Just For Laughs Festival.”

He was also named one of “Seventeen New Voices for a New Generation” in Seventeen Magazine, along with Chelsea Clinton, Josh Hartnett, and Venus and Serena Williams.

Birbiglia, who now lives in Greenwich Village and performs regularly at The Comic Strip Live and Caroline’s on Broadway, is a graduate of Georgetown University. He recently taped his own “Comedy Central Presents” half-hour special.
