Event: University Chapel Hour and Special Events presents: Jewish Seder/Passover Service and Dinner

Admission: Open to the public, however, reservations are required and may be made by calling Patty Burns at the Main Desk of the Memorial Center at 309/556-3034. Tickets for community members and students not on a Sodexho meal plan are $3 each. Admission for children is free. Guests should signify whether they would like grape juice or wine with their meal.

Background: The Jewish Passover meal celebrates a high holy day, when the Jews were led out of Egypt and freed from slavery.
Rabbi Theodore Gordon, associate chaplain at IWU and Rabbi Emeritus of Moses Montefiore Temple, will preside at the celebration. An experienced rabbi in the reformed tradition of Judaism, Rabbi Gordon has served congregations as a rabbi and cantor in Baltimore, Md., and Winword, Penn. He has served as a Hillel director at Penn State, the University of California Berkeley, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Pennsylvania.
The event is funded by the Soref Initiative for Emerging Campuses of Hillel.
