Background: Die Fledermaus is a romantic-comedic opera set in Vienna in the 1890s. It was first performed at the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna in 1874. The libretto, originally written in German, will be sung in English.
The production is under the direction of Dawn Harris and Robert Mangialardi, lecturers in music. It is choreographed by Sheri Bates, instructor of dance, and will be conducted by A.J. Robb, a senior music composition major from Mount Prospect, Ill.
