Round 1 Begins: Discussion and a first "puzzler"
(Advice: work on your notebooks with paper-writing in mind and then writing the paper will be much easier.)
11:30 am - Gather together to share what you've gleaned
1:00 pm - Discussion of group plans for taking data today, focusing on "free decay" for a range of damping parameters
3:15 pm - DUE: Data PLOTTED in IGOR Pro (no fit to any model required yet, but estimated error bars must be included
4 pm - Get started on Ch 4 of John Essick's LabVIEW book (wiring diagram from end due at 9 am tomorrow)
Homework - Three items are due at 9 am: A printout of your last wiring diagram from Essick Ch 4, along with Butikov HW from Ch 1 pages 10-11: # 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and also plots containing fits of your preliminary data to "free decay" model (with "sense-making" captions).
