In 1907  "Hamburger Gene" McInturff began selling hamburgers for a nickel apiece.


. White Castle coined the term "fast food" hamburger and 
urged consumers to "Buy them by the sack".

Nicknames

Steak n Shake, founded in Normal. Il in 1934 (where Monical’s Pizza is on Main St), 
was one of the first drive in restaurants
