  • Oct 25: We assembled the robot during the ACM meeting. All the ACM members participated, the pictures can be found here. Also the robot was officially christened "Naomi 96".

  • Oct 20: The robot has arrived and has been alloted its space in the ACM lab!

  • Oct 14: The ACM exec. board ordered the robot from LynxMotion, a Lynx 5 Robotic Arm Combo Kit, which uses the OOPic-R microcontroller. The kit includes an arm, a base and a gripper.

  • April 12: Dr. Weiyu Zhu of the CS Department gave a speech on robotics during the ACM meeting. He discussed his experience with programming robots (his research thesis was robotic AI) and also gave a general overview of how a robot is programmed.

  • 21 March: Good news - Student Senate has decided to give us the full amount requested for the project. The following is the breakup of the project funds:
    • Lynx Robotic Arm Combo Kit $355
    • 2 Linux Compatible web cams $100
    • VMWare Workstation $139
