Deck, Frawley Earn all-Region Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Illinois Wesleyan’s Ashley Deck and Katie Frawley were chosen to the first and second teams, respectively, of the all-Great Lakes region as the 2006 Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III all-region softball squads were announced Tues., May 9, by the NFCA.

Deck, a sophomore second baseman from Bolingbrook (HS), was an at-large first team choice. She led the Titans with a .413 batting average and also was the team leader in slugging percentage (.629), hits (59), triples (four), sacrifice bunts (12) and tied with Frawley with four home runs.

Frawley, a senior first baseman from Oswego, N.Y. (HS), was also a second team all-region selection in 2004. Her .353 batting average was fourth best on the team and she led the Titans in runs batted in (39) and doubles (14), was second in triples (two) and slugging percentage (.568), and was third in both runs (27) and hits (49).

The Titans finished their 2006 season with a 32-12 record and were second in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin with a 12-2 mark.
