Summer Programs for Youth

The mission of Summer on Stage is to provide a safe, nurturing and professional environment in which students can explore the dramatic arts. Click here for Summer 2013 Registration Form


All Camps will take place in the E. Melba Kirkpatrick Lab Theatre at Illinois Wesleyan University.


Footlight CampFootlights Camp

For Ages 7-11 (or entering 1st-6th)

Two sessions

May 28-June 7 (No Camp on memorial Day)

Mornings Mon- Friday 9-12

Afternoons Mon-Friday 1pm-4pm

$180

This camp will explore acting, improvisation, dance, voice, movement, team and confidence building activities. Camp will conclude with a public performance with both afternoon and morning sessions perfroming on the final day of camp at 4pm. This is the perfect camp for your budding actor or actress.

Spotlight CampSpotlight Camp

For ages 12-16 (or entering 7th- High School )

One 3 Week session June 10-June 28

9am-3pm

$250 (includes camp t-shirt and snack each afternoon) IWU employees 10% discount

Students who love theatre will thrive in this intensive theatrical training camp. Acting, dance, singing and technical theatre classes will take up the morning. The afternoons will be filled with rehearsals for the final showcase performance Friday June 29th at 4 pm. Students will learn choreography, blocking, character development and begin to understand all that is required to "put on a show." This camp will promote teamwork and problem solving skills. There is no other opportunity like this available in our community during the summer. For the student ready for hard work and theatrical success. The session will culminate with a fully produced play on the last day of camp in the E. Melba Fitzgerald Kirkpatrick Theatre.
