Stephen has been working as a freelance theatre artist and designer for over ten years. He joined the faculty at IWU in 2011. Teaching courses include: Intro to Theatre Technology, Fundamentals of Design, Technical Drawing and Lighting Design.

Stephen also works as the Design Associate for Otis Howard Designs Inc. Through Otis Howard Designs he has served as the Lighting Director for The Mo'Nique Show on BET. The Lighting Designer for BET Upfront 2011, BET Town Hall 2011, BET Spring Bling 2010, El Grito 2010, VH1's The Hip Hop Honors' Gold Carpet. He has also served as the Associate Lighting Designer on The Celebration of Gospel 2008-2012, Bobby Jones' Gospel 2009-2012, Sunday's Best 2009-2011, Pay it Off, The Soul Train Awards 2009-2011, Black Girls Rock 2010 & 2011, My Mamma Throws Down, UNCF Presents, an Evening with the Stars: A Tribute to Chaka Khan, and The 2012 NBA All Star Game Half Time Show.
