Registered Student Organizations

Registered Student Organizations, or RSO's, provide opportunities for students to experience the activities that they love, as well as support the causes they are passionate about. RSO's are formed when a group of students comes together and establishes a group on campus.

The benefits of formalizing (Registering your Student Organization) include having special access to campus space and resources, as they are able to access the R25 Scheduling Program, allowing programming to be put on anywhere on campus, from individual classrooms to the Quad, the Young Main Lounge, Beckman Auditorium, or Hansen's Center Court. Resources such as sound systems, seating, and multimedia presentation equipment are also available through this program.

The biggest benefit, though, of being an RSO, is the qualification for funding by Student Senate. Senate disperses a sum of $370,000 a year to RSO's which can be used for a variety of things, including movie rights, publication of journals or recordings, bringing in speakers, paying employees, purchasing equipment or instruction, and even some conference travel, hotel, and registration!

Some long standing RSO's on campus include the Black Student Union, which puts on a large dinner every year for the campus with a nationally renowned speaker. DRL (Death Resurrection Life) is one of the largest RSO's on campus, and they utilize the R25 Calendar to book the Main Lounge every Thursday night for a crowd of around 80 students, complete with chairs, a stage, Audio/Visual cart, and full sound setup for the band.

RSO Fair

The RSO Fair is your chance to get out on a beautiful day on our quad and see the RSOs which are already established.

Groups sign up for a table, and their information is presented to you by the students who are instrumental in running those groups.

There are games, music, inflatables, prizes, and sno-cones!

This day is your opportunity to see what the campus has to offer, and the great thing about it is that every single one of those 100 tables represent an organization that the students are passionate about!

If those passions coincide with yours, then you've just been plugged in to a vibrant and active campus!
