Student LifeOne of the big differences between Illinois Wesleyan and large schools is the fact that about 80 percent of Wesleyan students live on campus for all four years. Why do they like campus life so much? For many, campus is where the action is, for others, living on campus is all about friends, and for some, it's simply being able to sleep in and still make that eight o'clock class. 24 Living Choices: Residence halls and other housing are located just steps away from classroom buildings and the quad. They range from modern halls to historic homes that have served as living options since early in our history to fraternity and sorority houses. 165 Student Organizations: With student organizations ranging from student government and community service, to campus media and club sports, to fraternities and sororities, campus life is rich and varied. 18 Varsity Teams: There are 9 men's and 9 women's Titan teams that play in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin. One in four students are varsity athletes. 12 Fraternities and Sororities: Greek Life has been part of the Illinois Wesleyan campus for more than 100 years. Today about one in three Wesleyan students are members of our social fraternities and sororities. 6 Dining Options: From the Bertholf Dining Commons to Tommy's Grill at the Hansen Center, Dining Services offers great food choices to meet just about any appetitive and schedule. 2 Great College Towns: The twin-cities of Bloomington-Normal, with a population of 110,000, have much to offer from Uptown Normal to Downtown Bloomington there are loads of shops, restaurants and entertainment and recreation options. | |
