Core Sunday 8:15-9:15 p.m., Practice Gym
The class will work to provide a comprehensive, full body workout that first targets the core. The core includes the muscles of the abdominal wall, lower back, hips and glutes. The goal is to stabilize and strengthen your body's "hub" or "power core" where most movement originates. The strength portion (15 minutes) will be a quick, intense and complete strength routine. Core is perfect for students of all levels who want to better their athletic performance, enhance their fitness levels and functional capacity, or improve their posture.
Pilates Monday & Wednesday 6:30-7:30 p.m., Shirk South Classroom
Pilates focuses on core postural muscles, emphasizing breathing, alignment of the spine, and mental control over the muscles. Pilates is aimed to strengthen the deep torso muscles, increase flexibility, build strength and stamina, and improve balance and posture. Come join us every Tuesday and Thursday night from 8:00-9:00 for a full-body workout and a fun, friendly atmosphere!
Spinning Wednesday 8:00-9:00 p.m.; Saturday 8:30-9:15 a.m., Fort Natatorium Classroom
Spinning is a continuous interval cardio class that builds muscle strength, power, and endurance. Participants are led through challenging intervals set to motivating music. Spinning is sure to keep you felling strong, coming back for more.
Step Wednesday 4:45-5:45 p.m. CNS Dance Studio B
This 60-minute action-packed step class will keep you going with great movement patterns. Modifications are offered to accommodate all levels of experience. End the class with core exercises and stretching.
Yoga Tuesday & Thursday 6:30-7:30 p.m., South Classroom
Instructor: Erin Malone
Yoga will teach the basic postures in a style that is gentle enough for newcomers, satisfying for those with more experience and modifiable to meet individual needs. The practice breath-work, relaxation, and simple meditation will also be explored.
ZUMBA is a fun Latin inspired, dance fitness class that is taking the world by storm! The class incorporates exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms into an effective fitness system. ZUMBA allows you to dance your way to a fitter you in a friendly party like atmosphere!
