Dr. Bill Kauth Sr. enters his ninth year working as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Illinois Wesleyan University. Dr. Kauth received a Ph.D. in Health from the University of Utah, a M.S. in Athletic Training from Indiana State University, and a B.S. in Athletic Training from Illinois State University. Previously, Dr. Kauth worked at Illinois State University for 32 years. He retired in 2000 as a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation. While at Illinois State University, Dr. Kauth served as a professor, certified athletic trainer, and Director of the Athletic Training Education Program. Currently at Illinois Wesleyan University, Dr. Kauth works with the Men's Basketball team and assists with football and baseball.
Dr. Kauth is married to Carol and together they have 3 children. Bill Jr., who is the Head Athletic Trainer and Professor at Illinois Wesleyan University, Teri (Merna), who is a first grade teacher at Oakland Elementary school in Bloomington, Il., and Bobby who is the Head Golf Professional at Mercer Oaks Club near Trenton, N.J.
Whenever possible, Dr. Kauth enjoys playing golf, going fishing, and working out. He notes that he enjoys playing all sports, but golf is his passion. Even though Bill is officially retired, he considers his work with the IWU athletes and coaches as fun (most of the time)!! When he isn't busy with at IWU or playing golf, he and his wife enjoy traveling.
