| Sociology examines human behavior in different social and cultural contexts.
If you are curious about why people act the way they do, or if your career goals will be enhanced by understanding group processes, social trends and cultural differences, then you will benefit from the study of sociology. Many students are attracted to sociology because they feel they want to help people but are not sure how to do so. Others are undecided about their future plans and would like a major that will enable them to take any of a number of different career paths. Internships form an important part of the Illinois Wesleyan sociology program. Our students enjoy placements in many government, business, and human service settings in the local community. Through an internship, you will receive practical work experience while earning college credit, and your placement may help you think about your career choices. | ||
