President Wilson convened the eighth SPBC meeting of 2005-06 at 8 am.

The sole agenda item was discussion of preliminary reports from four work groups.   Understanding that the content of these reports was tentative and very much subject to change, the Committee engaged in lively discussion regarding the proposed language and intent of these works-in-progress.  SPBC members also pointed to portions of the goals statements that did not appear to have been addressed yet and suggested that the co-convenors give those areas attention as their work continues.

With a sense of excitement that strategies for achieving the University’s mission and vision are beginning to emerge, the Committee agreed to meet again on November 15, when discussion of the work groups’ progress will continue.
