Africa Action
Organization Description: AA's primary objective is to widen the policy debate in the United States around African issues and the U.S. role in Africa by providing accessible policy-relevant information and analysis usable by a wide range of individuals. AA identifies crucial policy issues in U.S./African relations, brings in diverse perspectives from Africa and U.S. Scholars and makes information available to policy makers.
Internship Program: AA has hosted hundreds of interns and each has been a valuable resource to the organization. Interns develop an individual project based work plan for their internship experience, focused on three primary campaigns to cancel Africa's debt, end the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa, and stop genocide in Darfur, Sudan. Interns will work primarily in either the Public Education and Mobilization Department (DPEM) or the Policy Analysis and Communications Department.
