Major Sequence: A minimum of nine course units in physics including:

1) Physics 105 and 106
2) Physics 207, 304, and 399
3) Physics 405 or physics 406
4) Three additional units in physics selected by the student with the consultation and approval of the major adviser to form a coherent program aimed at satisfying one of the stated departmental objectives.

Courses outside the department that physics majors are expected to take:
1) One year of general chemistry
2) One semester of physical chemistry is recommended.
3) Math 165, 166 or math 161, 162, 163

Minor Sequence: A minimum of five courses to include:

1) Physics 101 or 105, 102 or 106
2) Physics 207 and 304
3) One additional 300-level course. The following are recommended:
     A. Mechanics 405 for mathematics majors
     B. Quantum Mechanics for chemistry majors
     C. Electronics 305 for biology majors.
