Andrew's specializations are moral theory, moral psychology, political philosophy, applied ethics, and ancient philosophy. He is interested in investigating how ethical theories can accommodate the moral significance of our emotions. Andrew is also interested in investigating the degree to which our criminal justice system conforms to the values that justify punishment.
Prior to coming to IWU, Andrew was the James R. Gray Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley. He has taught courses in political and ancient philosophy, philosophy of religion as well as ethical theories.
