Housing Registration Process

As a new student attending Illinois Wesleyan University, there are many new and exciting experiences in store.  In the Office of Residential Life, we hope living in the residence halls at IWU will be one of those experiences.  Even if the residence hall is not a student's selected housing during the first year at IWU.  I understand you have recently enrolled at Illinois Wesleyan University.  On behalf of the Office of Residential Life, I would like to extend my congratulations and welcome to you!

After accepting an offer of admission, each incoming student receives a personal email, titled "IWU Housing Contract for [you]."   This email is usually sent out within two weeks of the receipt of a student's deposit.  It includes the information provided here, along with a link to the survey.

  • All housing registration and notification processes occur online.  Although we hand-match our roommate pairs, our online process makes data handling much more efficient and therefore we are able to make assignments more efficiently.

  • Housing assignments are made in chronological order based on the date your Enrollment Card is received, not on the completion date of the survey.  Please keep in mind that  housing is guaranteed for all first-year students regardless of enrollment date.

  • Students who have not received instructions should contact Terrance Bond (tbond@iwu.edu).   Students can use the survey link to regain access to the system to make change as often as they would like.

  • SurveyMonkey.com is the web site used for the Housing Contract.  If you have previously blocked your email address from receiving Surveymonkey.com messages, please follow this link to unblock your account.

  • You will be asked to indicate your interests, athletic, musical or theatrical involvement, sleeping habits, and study habits, among other things.

  • If you do not have access to the Internet from home, you may want to use a local library or school district computer.  Or if this is not possible, we will make a hard copy of the housing registration and notification process materials available to you.

Additional information about the First Year Experience, including Turning Titan, will be sent to you during the summer.  If you have any questions about the information contained in this message, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.

Sincerely,

Matthew Damschroder

Director of Residential Life
